Just as mountainbiking and its riders are constantly evolving, Shimano is permanently striving to provide athletes with innovative materials for an unprecedented riding experience. The SLX M7100 series has been developed for these mountainbikers who want to explore new adventures and adapts – typically Shimano – the technologies of the high-end XTR group. These innovations include 12-speed drivetrain, Micro Spline and Hyperglide+ which have already proven themselves on Deore XT series.
Shimano SLX SL-M7100 Rapidfire Plus (Mono) shifting lever
The Shimano SLX SL-M7100 shift lever is characterized by its simple and smooth-running operation so that the driver can concentrate solely on the trail ahead. Compared to its predecessor, the SL-M7000, the shifting operation force could be reduced by 35 % while the main lever access is now 20 % faster thanks to a clever design. In addition, the lever’s rubberized contact surface ensures maximum ergonomics.
Proven features such as Rapidfire Plus, 2-Way- and Instant-Release have of course been adopted by the SL-M7100 shifting levers from its predecessors. In addition, the left Rapidfire Plus Mono lever for 2-speed systems makes it possible to shift both the large and small chainring with just one button. The lever is pressed forward with the thumb to shift up, but does not spring back afterwards as before, but remains locked in this position. To shift down to the small chainring, simply release this lock by pressing it again with your thumb or by pulling it with your forefinger.
Instant Release allows faster shifts as it instantly releases the cable when the trigger is activated.
The levers are also equipped with 2-Way Release for different riding styles or shifting (indexfinger or thumb) from various riding positions. The upper lever still performs the same function, but now it swings both ways. Pull it with your finger or push it with your thumb – you choose.
Included in delivery: right lever incl. 2050 mm inner shifting cable

FITTING AND ADJUSTING TIPS
How to measure your foot length
- Stand with the heel to a wall and put a measuring tape under your feet
- Read off the measured foot length in millimeters before your longest toe
- If you are between two sizes, choose the next higher, because feet are minimally greater under load

Birkenstock products are offered in European sizes. Please reference our Size and Width conversion charts below to determine your SA/UK size.
Your feet should be able to move freely without your toes hitting the edge of the footbed.
Before trying them on, put one hand under the toe and one under the heel, then flex the footbed a few times. This will initiate the break in period and will your help your new sandals feel comfy sooner.
Open all straps and step into the footbed. Close the straps comfortably, leaving enough space to allow your feet the freedom of movement. Exhale and enjoy.
For the first five or six times you wear your new footwear, limit the time to just a few hours. This allows your feet and body to gradually get used to the contoured arch support as well as the straps and buckles.
